Grand Canyon Gas Logs are individually cast and mixed with ceramic fiber, high-temperature concrete, and stainless-steel fiber mesh. They are modeled after the Grand Canyon, one of the world's Seven Natural Wonders. The logs resemble the natural terrain of the canyon along the sun-baked banks of the Colorado River. Grand Canyon Gas Logs have a washed-out, sun-bleached exterior against rich gray tones and bright white elements, creating a backdrop for deep, crackling, splitting, in-the-woods bark. The heart wood is additionally stained with red mud from the Colorado River.

Forty years ago, a young boy was hiking through the Red Vermilion Cliffs on the Arizona-Utah border when he and his family came across a scrub oak that had been struck down by Mother Nature. The sheer awe and beauty of this lighting struck oak would leave a lifelong impression on the young boy’s mind. In October of 2011, the same scrub oak was rediscovered laying in the same spot that it had been 40 years earlier – only more beautiful than ever. The boy, now a man with a family of his own, backpacked the logs of the fallen oak out of the canyon to be casted, painted, and enjoyed in your home today.

Arizona Weathered Oak Collection were found in the mountains of the Northern Arizona forest. In fact, all of the logs that make up this collection were gathered from one tree that was hit by lightning more than 40 years ago. The effects of the lightning strike created bulges, twisting and cracking in the wood which are unique to our Arizona Weathered Oak Collection.
