Beginner's Watercolor Workshop

This workshop is designed especially for beginners—no experience needed. You’ll start by learning the basics of mixing colors and simple brush techniques, exploring how just red, yellow, and blue can create a whole rainbow of hues. From there, you’ll put your new skills to use by painting a printed illustration of your choice, with options ranging from florals and animals to playful abstract designs.

All supplies are included—just bring yourself and get ready for a colorful, calming creative experience!

Teaching Artist:

Mary Diesel is an experienced watercolor artist who honed her skills over 25 years, and attended several extended workshops to enhance her techniques. She taught watercolor classes and workshops in her home and with art and education organizations. She participated in and served in several roles in the arts community here and in west Texas, from artist to instructor to steering committees and boards. Though the myth about watercolor being difficult persists, Mary likes to show how fun learning and practicing the artform can be!
