Beautiful vintage Royalux hurricane lantern, a French storm lantern in very nice, complete, and fully working condition.
What makes these lanterns especially notable is the glass‑lift mechanism: by pushing the side lever down, the globe lifts up. This system is rarely seen and adds a distinctive mechanical charm. The cage design is also unusual and not commonly found on other lanterns.
The top cap is marked: Royalux – Bté S.G.D.G. – Made in France.
As expected from an older lantern, it shows light signs of age, adding to its authentic vintage character. A wonderful addition to a collection, yet still perfectly suitable for practical use—indoors, in the garden, or while traveling.
