Gable. Lombard. DiMaggio. Roosevelt. Kennedy. They all stayed here. Now you can own a piece of it.
This is a vintage Hotel Sainte Claire promotional glass piece from San Jose, California — triangle-shaped glass bearing the hotel's original regal logo, circa 1950s–1960s. Excellent condition. One available.
The Sainte Claire Hotel was built in 1926 and became one of the grandest and most celebrated hotels in California. Its guest list over the decades reads like a roll call of American celebrity and power — Clark Gable and Carole Lombard, Joe DiMaggio, Presidents Roosevelt and Kennedy, Bob Hope. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, the building has operated under several names: the Hyatt Sainte Claire in the 1990s, Hotel Sainte Claire in the 2000s, and most recently The Westin San Jose following a 2015 renovation. The original Sainte Claire name and logo — carried on this piece — belongs to the hotel's classical mid-century identity, before the chain rebrandings arrived.
The triangle form is clean and well-preserved, the logo sharp and regal. A souvenir glass piece from one of California's most historically significant hotels, in excellent condition.
A wonderful piece for a San Jose history collector, a California hotel memorabilia enthusiast, or anyone who appreciates the grand tradition of American grande dame hotels.
